Happiness Habits
Evidence-based wellbeing, brought to Stoke-on-Trent
About this project
We brought Action for Happiness's evidence-based “10 Keys to Happier Living” to Stoke-on-Trent — a free six-week course, run by our volunteers, in 2023.
What it was
Six evenings, six themes: gratitude, self-care, relationships, resilience, kindness, and meaning. Each week took one small, practical idea about wellbeing and gave people room to try it, talk it over, and decide for themselves what was worth keeping.
No psychology background needed. No mindfulness experience assumed. Just an open room and a willingness to show up.
Why we ran it
The course is built and maintained by Action for Happiness, a charity whose work is grounded in evidence — and they do it well. Our job was to put it within reach of people in Stoke-on-Trent, free of charge and free of jargon, facilitated by volunteers from our team. Bringing a national, well-tested programme to our own city, at no cost to attendees, is exactly the kind of work we exist to do.
Happiness isn't a switch you flip. The course treats it as a set of habits — small things, practised — which is the same honest approach that runs through everything we do.
